zombie apocalypse

Do you believe in zombies? Well, whether you do or not, it’s always important to prepare yourself for an apocalypse of some sort, like a zombie attack.

I mean, have you watched Brad Pitt’s World War Z? You never know what might happen in the future, given the constant technological advances. We might wake up one day only to discover a fraction of the world’s population turned into the walking dead.

Such instances are completely possible. Did you ever expect the Ebola outbreak? What about the Zika attacks in South America? You have to prepare yourself for whatever it is that might attack us. And the possibility of a zombie attack shouldn’t be taken with a grain of salt.

So, if you are the cautious kind of person, it’s important to put together some zombie survival gear that might come in handy when that fateful arrives.

Don’t be put off by what friends and family might say when they see you preparing a plan to protect yourself from an apocalyptic zombie attack. You know what; the wise Benjamin Franklin once pointed out, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Basically, what Franklin implied was that preparedness is just important. Better yet, when preparing against an attack, you’ve got nothing to lose. But you’ll have so much to lose if there is an actual attack.

Therefore, what’s better here? Stay unprepared? I don’t think so. Okay, that’s enough blabber, let’s get right to it, and look at a survival guide for a zombie apocalypse.

Do Some Research Regarding Zombies

The very first step is to learn about zombies in terms of how they behave, where they come from, how they develop, how they die, what’s their kryptonite, etc. You can get lots of info about zombies online.

It’s also important to research specifically about zombie outbreaks, so you are able to recognize them as early as possible. You wouldn’t want to be bitten by a zombie unknowingly, would you? Be prepared!

How do identify a zombie? Look for characteristics like hunger for human flesh, as well as check for open wounds and stiff gait.

Get a Gun, And Learn How To Shoot

If you aren’t familiar with guns, it’s about time you do so. The best way is to first familiarize yourself with all the local retailers selling guns and ammo. The process to acquire a gun license isn’t as easy as you may think.

But if you follow all the necessary procedures of acquiring a gun, the process is a breeze.

While learning how to shoot, it’s also advisable to keep a can of gasoline with you. This is because zombies are easily destroyed by fire.

** remember that zombies can only die if they get shot in the head. Therefore, whenever you are practicing, make sure you aim the “head”, and practice every day.

Scope Out Building And Map Routes

You have to find out what buildings will be great hiding spots when zombies attack. For instance, abandoned buildings will be perfect for you and your family. At the same time, scope out strategic shelters and get to know their entrances.

Get to know how you could escape into such buildings in case the apocalypse find you at home. What’s the path you are gonna use to reach the buildings? What entrances do these buildings have?

If possible, you can stockpile ammo in these buildings. Keep some of the ammo with you at home.

** Always stay away from hospital mental facilities; because they are likely places where zombie attacks can start from.

Put Together A Survival Gear

The next step is to acquire the necessary zombie survival gear, some of which include a zombie attack kit. The kit should come with things like flashlights, batteries, first aid kit, emergency radio, and canned food.

You can actually buy most of these things at a Mall.

It’s significant to have the zombie survival kit as small as possible to be able to carry it around. It can be backpack that carries all the paraphernalia I’ve mentioned earlier.

Keep Quiet About It

Yes, be secretive about the preparation against a possible zombie attack. It’s better not to mention anything this to many people. You wouldn’t want everyone running to you when the attack begins, simply because they remember you preparing for it.

You don’t want your hiding spot crammed with many people seeking solace and relief from the little you had set aside for survival. You gotta be selfish! Sometimes that’s the only way to survive… But don’t forget your loved ones.

What If It’s Too Late?

You are in the process of preparing, and you are not yet done doing so, then an attack just takes place. Or maybe you didn’t take things seriously, and so you didn’t prepare at all. What are you gonna do?

Well, the very first thing to do is find a perfect hiding spot where the zombies won’t reach you, or it will take them longer to reach you.

While hiding, cover up yourself with something that’s gonna prevent potential bites from the zombies. Wear a mask, put on gloves, tuck your pants into your socks, and make you have close-toe shoes.

** As you can see, this is another reason to get some of these things ready, and always keep and store them in “protective” rooms that may act as perfect hideouts.

The next thing you gotta do is find a blunt object that can bash a zombie’s skull. Then prepare yourself for a one-on-one scuffle with the zombie. You’ll need courage. This is a do or die moment.

Once you’ve garnered enough courage, wait for the zombie and smash its head as hard as you can. You can also trick the zombie by luring it to low-lying areas such that once it’s contained, blast its brains out.

Since zombies may attack in groups, and in many numbers, you can trick and trap them one after the other so that you get to kill as many of them as possible. Do it eerily and quietly. This is probably the best strategy to kill zombies.

Final Thoughts

With the uncertainties of today’s life, prompted by innumerable technological and scientific studies, you never know when we might wake up to a zombie apocalypse.

That’s why it’s really vital to prepare yourself for a zombie attack. And nothing comes in handy than a zombie survival gear. Therefore, it doesn’t matter whether or not you believe in zombies, why don’t you get the necessary items to survive in case zombies attack.

Again, you’ve nothing to lose!
